POLYLANE FOR WRITERS
Three deadlines.
One writing life.
Plan your manuscript, newsletter and client column together. Make editing a session.

Editing afternoon
09:30–11:00 · Move the session together.
01 / A WAY TO ORGANIZE IT
The manuscript keeps losing to the next deadline.
The manuscript is long-term. The newsletter has a rhythm. The client column has a deadline. They all need a place in the same working week.
Projects hold the context
Manuscript · Weekly letter · Client column
Channels show the kind of work
Editing · Research · Drafting
A batch connects related tasks
Editing work across projects, planned as one session.

Every project has its place.
Projects across the top. Channels down the side. Related tasks can share a batch while keeping their original context.

THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THIS PART OF THE WORK
Know where it fits.
Polylane helps writers plan research, drafting and editing across publications and client work. Keep the writing itself in your editor, and use named sessions to give related work a realistic place on the calendar.
Polylane is a planning tool, not a manuscript editor, word-count tracker or publishing platform.
This three-project template fits Solo or its 14-day trial. Free supports two projects on your device. Solo adds unlimited projects and channels with cloud sync. Compare plans
Before you get started
Does task completion measure manuscript progress or word count?
No. Completion counts the tasks in your plan. Use a writing tool for drafts and word counts, and make task labels specific enough to describe a useful writing session.
How do I create “Editing afternoon”?
Add the tasks to Manuscript, Weekly letter, Client column, select the related tasks and create a batch called Editing afternoon. Use In sequence to run them back-to-back, then choose a date and time. The example totals 90 minutes.
Can I try the real application before creating an account?
Yes. The sample opens the actual Polylane planner with disposable example work. You can edit tasks, change views and move the batch. Sample edits reset on reload and do not change your saved planner. Choose Use this template to review and add a fresh copy to your own planner. Preview edits are not copied.
Which plan do I need for this three-project example?
The three-project example fits Solo or the 14-day Solo trial. Free keeps two projects on the device, so a smaller two-project version works there. Solo adds unlimited projects and channels with cloud sync. See pricing for current terms.
