What Polylane does

You are not planning one thing. You are shipping a channel, building a course, and delivering client work in the same week, and each pursuit arrives with its own list. Polylane puts all of them in a single grid. Projects run down one axis, channels run across the other, and every cell holds the tasks for that project on that channel.

You start with default channels — YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Website — and add your own for anything else you publish to. Taking on a new pursuit adds a row to the grid. It does not add another tool to check.

A thumbnail, a caption, and an upload are one piece of work wearing three hats. Select the related tasks and link them into a batch. The batch then decides how those tasks behave on the calendar:

• Same hour — linked tasks stack in one time slot.
• Back-to-back — each linked task takes the next hour.
• Move together — rescheduling one moves the whole batch.

Move together is the one that saves the week. When a shoot slips two days, you drag a single task and everything attached to it follows.

A grid becomes a plan when it has times against it. Drag a task out of the matrix and onto the day calendar to give it a slot. The calendar covers the full day in one-hour slots, and every task carries a duration from 15 minutes to four hours, so a week that does not fit looks like a week that does not fit.

For work that repeats, set a daily, weekly, or monthly rule with a start and end date. Polylane works out the occurrences, and you drag each one onto the day you intend to do it. Repeating work never fills your calendar without you deciding.

One layout cannot answer every question, so the same data has three views:

• Overview — the matrix. Every project and channel at once, for planning the week.
• Flow — one project at a time, laid out channel → tasks → links, for working inside a single pursuit.
• Graph — a connection map of projects, channels, tasks, and the links between them, for seeing what is attached to what.

Overview and Flow are available on every plan, including Free. Graph is still rolling out, so it may not be switched on for your account yet.

Your plan is not much use trapped in one tab. Export .ics from the planner header and your scheduled tasks come out as a standard calendar file that any calendar app can read. The .ics export is part of Solo.

You can also connect Google Calendar, and Polylane will push scheduled work into it. That push runs one way, Polylane to Google. Edits you make in Google do not come back, and two-way sync is not shipped.

Free keeps your plan on the device you are working on. Solo adds cloud sync, so the matrix, links, and calendar you left on one machine are the ones waiting on the next.

Polylane runs in the browser. There is no mobile app yet, so treat a phone as somewhere to read the day rather than plan it.
